Meet Gerry, the hand-reared giraffe, and his friends: the eland (the biggest antelope), the duiker (the smallest antelope) and ostriches (the world’s biggest bird). This education-focused wildlife centre also has monkeys, zebras, crocs, foxes, caracal and many other animals. Kids love playing on the three jungle gyms after the animal encounter. There is no restaurant, just a refreshment kiosk, but you are welcome to bring your own picnic. It’s important to bring cash, as the park does not have a credit card facility.
Animal encounters, Under R50
Kids not only experience a wide range of animals, they also learn why they are special.
