Air Force Museum

Takea sneak peek into the rich living history of South Africa’s air force. This small museum has an interesting display of artifacts, uniforms, medals and photographs, but the most exciting part is the exhibition of original aircrafts, ranging from 1930s planes to the modern machines of today. The museum is also home to the world’s last airworthy Avro Shackleton, a British long-range maritime patrol aircraft used by the Royal Air Force and the South African Air Force. Important: The museum is open several days of the week, but access to the hanger is only permitted on Saturdays. Visitors need to bring an ID or passport, as the museum is located on a working military base.

Entry is free of charge!
